Job summary

Canada Life UK is seeking a Lead Engineer to join our Digital leadership team, focusing on UI/UX, accessibility, and front-end performance. You will collaborate with other Lead Engineers to define technical direction while staying hands-on across the product lifecycle.

Ideal candidates combine depth in user-facing product engineering with strong Cloud/Azure and CI/CD experience, and a customer-centric mindset to deliver delightful experiences.

Qualifications

• Expert in modern front-end apps with strong UX craft.
• Solid accessibility knowledge and WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
• Focus on front-end performance and Core Web Vitals.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
• Led engineers, set technical direction, and mentored teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and support software across front and back ends with front-end emphasis.
• Lead accessible, responsive UIs that meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
• Champion front-end performance and Core Web Vitals health.
• Configure and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and test automation for Azure-hosted solutions.
• Collaborate with fellow Leads to set technical direction and raise engineering standards.
