Job summary

SUEZ is seeking a skilled fire safety professional to lead the implementation of fire strategy and conduct complex fire risk assessments for energy-from-waste and related plants. The role involves reviewing designs, advising project teams and ensuring compliance with regulations and best practice.

You will develop policies, deliver training, engage with authorities, and drive improvements across site operations while staying ahead of evolving fire safety standards.

Qualifications

• Fire risk assessment experience in high-hazard or construction settings.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, BS 5839, Approved Document B, BS 9999, NFPA codes and BS 12845.
• Expertise in fire hazard identification and mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the SUEZ fire strategy.
• Provide expert advice on fire safety to internal teams.
• Review fire system designs, upgrades and project proposals for compliance.
• Identify and address fire safety shortfalls and develop improvement recommendations.
• Build relationships with stakeholders to ensure compliant delivery.
• Support investigations after fire incidents, identifying root causes and corrective action.
• Develop, review and maintain fire safety policies, evacuation plans and emergency arrangements.
• Support the development of Fire Prevention Plans.
