Job summary

Smart4Sciences is recruiting an Inspection Lead for our Blackburn site to own the final inspection function within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. You will lead the inspection team, manage resourcing, training plans, and drive improvements in quality, HSE, and data accuracy to ensure products meet the highest standards before reaching customers.

Qualifications

• Qualified in engineering/manufacturing/science with an HND or equivalent.
• Experience in inspection, QA, or QC within manufacturing.
• Proven experience supervising teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of quality standards and inspection processes.
• Experience investigating non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Customer-focused with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Willingness to adapt in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead final inspection team to meet quality standards.
• Plan and monitor inspector resources, holidays and overtime.
• Develop training plans and competency matrices.
• Supervise inspection activities and data recording.
• Monitor KPIs and drive improvements in quality, efficiency and safety.
• Escalate quality concerns to Quality and Operations.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
• Contribute to inspection process improvements.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet customer requirements.
