Job summary

Oldham Council's Family Help service is seeking an experienced Senior Family Worker to manage an allocated caseload of families with complex needs and to lead multi-agency meetings coordinating development and delivery of joint support plans to address risks and needs.

You will employ strength-based approaches to build trusting relationships, support resilience and improve outcomes for children and families, while conducting holistic assessments in partnership with families to draft bespoke

Qualifications

  • Substantial experience of assessing and analysing the needs of children and families and implementing programmes of support to address these.
  • Extensive experience of working within a service delivering support to families who have complex lives including mental health, offending, substance misuse, domestic abuse and may resist service involvement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in partnership with multiple partner organisations to support children and families to be in control of their lives.

Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for an allocated caseload of families with multiple and complex needs, including acting as lead professional, chairing multi-agency meetings and coordinating development and delivery of multi-agency support plans addressing assessed needs and risks.
  • Utilise strengths-based, creative approaches to build trusting relationships with families, enabling challenge and support to improve resilience, self-reliance and children’s outcomes.
  • Carry out holistic assessments with family involvement to identify strengths, assets, risks and challenges, and translate this into bespoke, collaborative work plans.
