Russell Taylor Group is seeking an experienced Senior Failure Analysis Consultant to join a highly respected technical consultancy in Liverpool. Office-based with potential hybrid working, you will lead investigations, perform root cause analysis and deliver robust reports for diverse industries.

The role requires extensive metallurgical expertise, strong client communication, and the ability to present findings in technical and legal settings.

Qualifications

• Experience in forensic engineering and failure analysis.
• Proven ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA).
• Experience interpreting laboratory results and metallurgical examinations.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills for client audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex failure investigations on metallic components and systems.
• Perform RCA using metallurgical principles and established methodologies.
• Conduct laboratory examinations, material assessments and fracture investigations.
• Carry out site inspections and witness testing as required.
• Produce high-quality technical reports communicating findings and recommendations to clients.
• Provide expert consultancy and advice throughout investigations.
• Support clients with preventative recommendations to minimise future failures.
• Present findings to clients and, where required, provide expert witness testimony in legal or arbitration proceedings.
• Contribute to business development and maintain strong client relationships.
