We are looking for a Lead Facilities Assistant to join our Facilities team in Midlothian.

Working as a Lead Facilities Assistant you will be responsible for providing facilities support within the Midlothian area. This principally involves Supervising a team of Facilities Assistants and supporting Facilities Manager in dealing with events via Helpdesk which will include, Security, reception, portering and caretaking services but also includes planned and reactive maintenance activities and statutory compliance.

What You’ll do:

  • Building and Cleaning monitoring. Auditing of statutory testing.
  • Conducting routine checks and inspection of facilities and equipment.
  • Undertaking minor maintenance work such as lamp changing.
  • Providing initial response to any reported faults.
  • Conducting repairs to fixtures and fittings.
  • Assisting with minor and major moves within the school.
  • Undertaking conference room set up for meetings in Community rooms.
  • Manage the signing in of Subcontractors for Skanska
  • Book in Permit holders for Lets.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Proven experience of working in a busy and demanding customer focused environment.
  • Understanding of health and safety and its application to the working environment.
  • Demonstrable maintenance skills such as home maintenance.
  • Experience of working within a maintenance environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to use office computer systems including e-mail, spreadsheets, and databases.
