Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our Oak Specialist Services unit in the UK. You will lead project-specific commercial management for façade projects from pre-contract through final account, ensuring robust financial control and effective subcontractor administration.

The role emphasizes cost planning, value engineering, and procurement strategy; you will prepare cost plans, CVRs, cashflows and quarterly reports, identify risks and opportunities, and administer NEC/JCT

Responsibilities

• Lead project specific commercial management of façade projects from pre-contract through final account.
• Oversee project cost planning, value engineering, and procurement strategy.
• Prepare and maintain detailed cost plans, budgets, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Produce monthly CVRs, cashflows, and commercial reports.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Administer NEC, JCT or other relevant contract forms for both main contract and subcontract agreements.
• Prepare, submit, and agree applications for payment and variations.
• Lead negotiation of subcontract accounts, claims, extensions of time, and loss & expense submissions.
• Ensure compliance with building safety regulations and supporting documentation required on façade schemes.
• Lead procurement of specialist façade subcontractors, including tender packages, evaluations, and recommendations.
• Evaluate subcontract performance, variations, notices, payments, and commercial correspondence.
• Build strong relationships with façade supply chain partners while maintaining commercial control.
• Attend progress meetings, commercial reviews, and senior leadership forums.
• Work closely with project delivery teams to drive programme, quality, and cost alignment
