Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the pre-construction team on a permanent basis at its Birmingham head office. You will price tenders for large-scale commercial and industrial projects and work closely with design, procurement and project teams from early concept through tender submission.

The role requires building detailed costs from drawings and specifications, reviewing drawings, and managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries to deliver

Qualifications

• Experience estimating logistics, warehouse, distribution, industrial or similar large-scale projects.
• Ability to build up costs from drawings, specifications and design information.
• Experience pricing packages such as groundworks, steelwork, cladding, roofing, M&E, fit-out and external works.
• Commercially minded with ability to challenge costs and negotiate with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and tenders for large-scale construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and design information.
• Develop detailed project costs and pricing.
• Prepare and manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
• Analyse quotations and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Build up costs across individual trade packages.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential value engineering.
• Work with design and project teams to develop buildable, competitive solutions.
• Support tender submissions and presentations.
• Assist handover of successful projects to delivery team.
