Job summary

Randstad Construction & Property is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the Work Winning team in the UK. You will lead tenders from first principles, collaborating with bid managers, designers, and supply chain partners to deliver robust, competitive solutions.

You will oversee bid input from procurement, engineering, and commercial teams, identifying risks and value-engineering opportunities while ensuring smooth handovers to delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as an Estimator within a main contractor environment (Tier 1 or Tier 2).
• Strong understanding of first-principles estimating and modern construction techniques and H&S requirements.
• Degree educated (preferred) or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Proficient in industry-standard estimating software (Conquest or Causeway).

Responsibilities

• First-Principle Estimating: Manage and prepare tenders from first principles, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
• Bid Leadership: Coordinate input from the wider team, including procurement, engineering, and commercial departments.
• Supply Chain Engagement: Build relationships with subcontractors to secure best market rates and innovative solutions.
• Risk & Opportunity: Identify, assess, and manage project risks and highlight value-engineering opportunities.
• Handovers: Deliver tender handovers to project delivery teams for seamless transition from won to built.
