Job summary

Leonardo UK in Basildon is seeking a Principal Electro-Optic Systems Engineer to lead the integration and testing of EO seeker prototypes for technology demonstrators. You will define specifications and work with electronics, software, firmware and mechanical teams.

The role requires a strong background in electro-optic systems, with systems engineering experience and the ability to mentor others. Hybrid working options are available and security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electro-optics system development and integration.
• Engineering or science-based Honours degree or equivalent.
• Systems engineering background or desire to move into systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead generation of new seeker concepts.
• Define system and sub-system requirements.
• Work with test engineers to characterise performance.
• Develop algorithms and analyse data.
• Coordinate trials and testing activities.
