Job summary

EDF is seeking a Lead Technician to manage the Environmental Nuisance Monitoring network across our UK sites. You will plan, operate, and maintain the system, interpret data, and provide expert judgement on changes, supporting Process Technicians and advising on monitoring assets.

You will oversee data collection, reporting of exceedances, and calibration documents, while guiding installation, commissioning and maintenance of site-wide monitoring equipment.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline.
• Working towards or have attained membership of a professional body (e.g. IOA, IAQM).
• Qualified and experienced in Environmental Monitoring.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting.
• Knowledge of engineering, mechanical, electrical and telemetry principles.
• Strong data organisation and presentation skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to network.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Environmental Nuisance Monitoring network.
• Provide continuous noise and air quality monitoring and report trigger point exceedances.
• Collect all data for the monitoring network and ensure quality records.
• Collate and store data reports, maintenance records and calibration documents.
• Support quarterly light surveys and monthly diffusion tube sampling for clients.
• Provide technical advice on installation, commissioning, maintenance and operation of monitoring equipment.
• Continuously evaluate site performance and recommend improvements.
