Job summary

Panda is seeking an experienced Lead Solution Architect to shape the technical architecture underpinning our applications, integrations, data platforms and cloud services. You will translate complex requirements into secure, scalable and maintainable solutions aligning with IT strategy.

You will provide technical direction across Engineering, Delivery, Product, Security, Infrastructure and Data, guiding architecture governance while not being responsible for delivery or operations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Solution Architect in a complex enterprise
• Strong experience designing distributed and integrated technology solutions
• Clear understanding of application, integration and data architecture
• Experience designing solutions using Microsoft Azure or a comparable cloud platform
• Knowledge of API design, messaging and integration architecture
• Proven ability to produce architecture documentation and designs
• Understanding security-by-design, resilience, scalability and disaster recovery
• Experience in Agile delivery environments
• Ability to facilitate architecture reviews and governance
• Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex technical subjects
• Commercially aware approach to technical decisions

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of enterprise solutions across applications, integrations, cloud platforms and data services
• Translate business requirements into clear solution architectures and technical designs
• Assess solution options balancing cost, complexity, scalability and long-term value
• Ensure solutions meet security, resilience, performance and operational requirements
• Maintain architectural integrity from concept to implementation
• Provide technical leadership to engineers and specialists
• Lead architecture reviews through the Technology Design Authority
• Maintain architectural documentation and standards
• Support current and future-state architecture planning
• Identify opportunities to reduce duplication and address technical debt
• Define API, messaging and event-driven integration patterns
• Support architecture of data platforms and govern data
• Design secure, resilient cloud-native and hybrid solutions
• Promote automation and Infrastructure as Code
• Embed security, DR and operability into designs
• Evaluate emerging technologies and support procurement
• Present architecture proposals clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Collaborate with vendors and partners
• Mentor technical colleagues and foster engineering excellence
