Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Lead Engineering Technician to oversee daily R&D facility operations at our Southampton site. You will execute complex tasks, build test equipment and coordinate technicians to meet performance goals.

You will lead safety and 5S initiatives, manage calibration status and collaborate with engineers, project managers and technicians to drive innovative underwater robotics and related systems.

Qualifications

• HNC or degree in an engineering discipline with hands-on test experience.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong background in electrical and electronic environments with software awareness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily R&D facility operations and coordinate technicians.
• Perform hands-on builds of electro-mechanical hardware and test routines.
• Ensure safety, 5S standards and calibration status in area.
• Prepare test reports and support design reviews across disciplines.
