As a result, alongside several consortium partners, Balfour Beatty has been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage. This project is a key driver behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Engineering Surveyor to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project, based at our new site in Redcar and Cleveland.

What you’ll be doing

1. Manage site records of all survey-related tasks.
2. Manage and coordinate site team survey activities.
3. Manage inventory of survey equipment and ensure consumables are accurately maintained.
4. Delegate for survey manager when they are not present on site.
5. Attend design and construction engineering meetings and participate in design reviews.
6. Be accountable for survey team output and performance.

Who we’re looking for

1. Ability to work collaboratively with all teams.
2. An elevated level of understanding and experience in design, construction, and surveying within a construction environment.
3. Proficient in the use of GPS and survey applications.
4. Experience in organizing and managing site survey teams.
5. Knowledge of and ability to check design deliverables in various digital formats.
6. Experience in settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologies.
7. Experience with geodetic requirements associated with project needs.
8. Experience using the latest survey equipment, software, and technologies.
9. Experience in establishing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) networks.
