Job summary

Tata Technologies Ltd. in the United Kingdom seeks a Lead Engineer – Chassis (Suspension) to own the engineering release of suspension components from development through production. You will drive DV/PV sign-offs, manage risks, coordinate suppliers and cross-functional teams, and support launches at Solihull.

The role requires an engineering degree with suspension/chassis experience, strong project management, and APQP/PPAP/FMEA proficiency; CAD literacy and BEV launch exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering suspension or chassis components within automotive programmes.
• Proven project management and issue resolution capability.
• Knowledge of product development, validation and launch processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA and structured problem solving.
• PC literacy: Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Drive all engineering, quality and manufacturing issues to resolution.
• Ensure DV, PV, sign-off activities and engineering releases are completed.
• Support, pilot, pre-production and production builds.
• Deliver components on time, cost and specification.
• Manage engineering changes and programme risks.
• Coordinate suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure vehicle builds are supported with correct parts and engineering status.
• Escalate issues where required.
• Support launch activities at Solihull manufacturing facility.
• Ensure maturation of components in line with programme plans.
• Communicate engineering status to Chassis Launch leader.

THE ROLE

The Lead Engineer – Chassis (Suspension) is responsible for complete engineering ownership of allocated chassis components during component sign off, maturation, vehicle launch and industrialisation, ensuring successful delivery into production.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Engineering ownership of allocated suspension commodities: Front springs and dampers (strut), rear springs and dampers.
• Drive all engineering, quality and manufacturing issues to resolution
• Ensure DV, PV, sign-off activities and engineering releases are completed

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

• Understanding of our client release and change management systems
