Job summary

Tata Technologies is seeking a Lead Engineer for Chassis Launch (Axles) to own the engineering of allocated chassis components during vehicle launches and industrialisation. The role requires coordinating with suppliers, managing issues, and ensuring on-time, within-budget component delivery.

Responsibilities include driving DV/PV sign-off, supporting pre-production and production builds, and maintaining clear communication of status to leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering brakes or chassis components in automotive programmes.
• Proven project management and issue resolution capability.
• Knowledge of product development, validation and launch processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA and structured problem solving.
• PC literacy: MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering of allocated chassis components during launch and industrialisation.
• Drive all engineering, quality and manufacturing issues to resolution.
• Ensure DV, PV, sign-off activities and engineering releases are completed.
• Support, pilot, pre-production and production builds.
• Deliver components on time, cost and specification.
• Coordinate suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Escalate issues where required.
• Support launch activities at Solihull manufacturing facility.
• Communicate engineering status to Chassis Launch leader.

THE ROLE

The Lead Engineer - Chassis Launch (Axles) is responsible forcomplete engineering ownership ofallocatedchassis components during vehicle launch and industrialisation, ensuring successful delivery into production.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Engineering ownership ofallocatedbrakescommodities and associated bracketsfrom the following group:Brake pipes, brake hoses, brake pedal, accelerator pedal.
• Drive all engineering,qualityand manufacturing issues to resolution
• Ensure DV, PV, sign-off activities and engineering releases are completed
• Support, pilot, pre-production and production builds
• Deliver components on time,costand specification
• Manage engineering changes and programme risks
• Coordinate suppliers and cross-functional teams
• Ensure vehicle builds are supported with correct parts and engineering status
• Escalate issues whererequired
• Support launch activities at Solihull manufacturing facility
• Ensure maturation of components in line with programme plans
• Communicate engineering status to Chassis Launch leader

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

• Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• Experience deliveringbrakes or other chassiscomponents within automotive programmes
• Proven project management and issue resolution capability
• Knowledge of product development, validation and launch processes
• Strong communicationand stakeholder management skills
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA and structured problem solving
• PC literacy: Microsoft Project, PowerPoint,Exceland Word

Preferred:

• Understanding of client release and change management systems
• CAD literacy and ability to interrogate CAD models
• Experience supporting BEV vehicle launches
