Job summary

Vectis Recruitment is seeking a Lead Engineer for a sector-leading manufacturer in the aerospace and defence sectors. You will lead a team of engineers, define technical requirements, and drive New Product Introduction from concept through to delivery.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams and customers to ensure design rigor, meeting safety and regulatory standards while delivering high-quality tooling and products.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or STEM-related discipline.
• Experience leading mechanical design work packages.
• Experience in highly regulated aerospace/defence sectors.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or similar 3D modelling software.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Engineers providing guidance, direction and coaching.
• Develop tooling designs and manufacturing methods to improve efficiency and product quality.
• Investigate non-conformances and establish root causes.
• Provide subject matter expertise to the customer and develop solid long-term relationships.
• Define, manage, and validate product requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Be the company customer point for NPI & manufacturing programs.
• Produce Engineering drawings.
• Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external partners to drive system design, development, and delivery.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the engineering lifecycle.
