Job summary

Elis in Leicester is seeking a Lead Engineer to head the site engineering function while staying hands-on with engineering tasks. You will mentor engineers, supervise maintenance activities and drive continuous improvement to boost equipment reliability and OEE.

You will act as deputy to the Engineering Manager when needed and play a key role in safety, planning preventative and corrective maintenance, and coordinating with production to meet demanding run rates.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing.
• Experience supervising or leading teams.
• Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience with PPM and maintenance programmes.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership and technical support to the engineering team. Coach and mentor engineers, senior engineers and apprentices.
• Support the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance.
• Help plan and coordinate engineering resources around production requirements and maintenance activity.
• Support fault finding, breakdown responses and repair works on machinery and facilities.
• Work with production colleagues to improve equipment reliability and OEE.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement practical changes.
