Job Description:

Take on a crucial role as part of a high-performing team delivering secure software solutions at JPMorgan Chase. You will help shape the future of software security by developing solutions that meet functional and security requirements, including preventing misuse and malicious behavior. As a Lead Security Engineer, you will be responsible for technical solutions across various business functions, ensuring security and robustness. Your work will directly impact cybersecurity efforts and support the firm’s business objectives in a diverse and inclusive environment. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining applications using Python and SQL, building ETL/ELT pipelines, designing user interfaces, and architecting cloud solutions on AWS.

Job responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions to meet security requirements for Cyber Operations stakeholders.
  2. Develop applications using Python and SQL.
  3. Implement user interfaces with modern JS frameworks like React, Angular, or similar.
  4. Build and maintain data pipelines and models within data warehouses, including data ingestion from multiple vendors.
  5. Architect and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based solutions on AWS.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  7. Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
  8. Write clean, efficient, maintainable code following best practices such as TDD and comprehensive testing.
  9. Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  10. Stay updated with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software engineering and cybersecurity.
  11. Contribute to a team culture emphasizing diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in Python, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with SQL, data pipelines, data modeling, and tools like DBT.
  • Knowledge of CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap, Material UI, or Tailwind CSS.
  • Understanding of API standards like REST and GraphQL.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Athena, EC2, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, Git, containerization, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
  • Strong understanding of agile, DevOps practices, security, and TDD.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience with big data technologies like Splunk, Trino, Apache Iceberg.
  • Data Science, AI/ML experience, including model building.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or Developer.
