Job description

Job Title
Lead Engineer EMEA
Job Description Summary

Job Description

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach to maintaining and improving a highly resilient engineering environment. You'll be responsible for the full spectrum of building maintenance tasks from daily plant checks and resolving faults, to responding to PPM schedules and FM360-generated calls. You'll issue work permits (e.g. Hot Works, Circuit Isolation, H&S) and bring in external contractors when necessary to support both planned and reactive maintenance.

You'll also take the lead on sourcing and ordering replacement parts and materials for the building's plant systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Core Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering contractors and oversee planned maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain 24/7 infrastructure reliability while ensuring all internal/external SLAs are met.
  • Act as the main point of contact for other departments during onsite activities.
  • Maintain and manage building operations and environment with a focus on safety and compliance.
  • Develop and support energy management processes in line with company CSR and ISO14001 standards.
  • Maximise system efficiency through engineering controls and environmental systems.
  • Represent the department at senior management level where required.
  • Lead fault diagnosis and provide a first-line response on critical engineering infrastructure - including electrical, HVAC, BMS, and life safety systems.
Technical Scope Includes:
  • Electrical systems including emergency lighting, UPS, and distribution systems.
  • HVAC systems and comfort cooling controls.
  • BMS control and monitoring.
  • Power generation (generators and controls).
  • Fire detection and fixed suppression systems.
Project & Upgrade Work

You'll also play a key role in engineering project work from small upgrades to major capital works. This includes supporting and sometimes leading the design, installation, and commissioning of new systems, while ensuring compliance with internal standards. You'll manage change control and permits, coordinate with internal and external teams, and uphold safety and delivery standards throughout.

What We're Looking For
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar corporate engineering or facilities role.
  • Strong contract management experience, especially with H&S compliance and performance monitoring.
  • Solid grounding in engineering best practices with multi-disciplinary exposure.
  • 17th Edition qualified (or equivalent) and comfortable working on both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with PC-based systems for PPM, BMS, and engineering reporting.
  • Clear, confident communicator able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive team player, able to work under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Flexible and willing to work unsociable hours, including participation in a standby/call-out rota.
  • Good project and organisational skills.
Why This Role?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a technically strong, forward-thinking team in a corporate setting where high standards, energy efficiency, and innovation are priorities. You'll be part of a critical function that supports 24/7 operations and drives continuous improvement in building performance and reliability with the autonomy to lead, solve problems, and influence real change.
