Reporting to: Head of CFD

Cadillac Formula 1 is preparing for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship and is building a high-performance team at Silverstone. We are seeking a Lead Engineer - CFD Methods to lead our CFD team within the Aerodynamics department, focusing on developing and improving CFD capabilities to support our racing ambitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the CFD Methods team.
  • Develop and enhance CFD methodologies for better accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with aerodynamicists and engineers to optimize CFD processes.
  • Work with the correlation team on experimental data analysis.
  • Ensure CFD simulations align with tool capabilities.
  • Define best practices for meshing, turbulence modeling, and solver settings.
  • Select and oversee CFD software and tools.
  • Maintain and support CFD toolkits.
  • Contribute across CFD disciplines including process, flow, thermal, and pipeline development.
  • Stay updated with CFD technological advancements.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role within motorsport.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid physics, turbulence modeling, and numerical methods.
  • Programming skills in C++, Python, Java, or VBA; experience with STAR-CCM+ and open-source CFD codes.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams.
  • Effective communication with stakeholders and directors.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office suite.
