Job summary

eTeam Workforce Limited in Leeds is seeking a proactive Lead Engineer to manage engineering projects from a design phase through execution. You will coordinate internal teams and clients, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with QA and H&S standards.

Applicants should hold an Engineering degree and have strong experience in project delivery, with proficiency in SAP/PLM, AutoCAD and 3D CAD tools. Hybrid working pattern is offered, with 3 days in the office and 2 from home.

Lead Engineer - Permanent Opportunity

Location: Leeds, UK
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days office/2 days home

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an exciting Lead Engineer opportunity with a global engineering and technology organisation based in Leeds.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the Engineering function, leading projects from execution through to completion while working closely with internal teams, customers and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects through the execution phase, coordinating multiple internal stakeholders and client requirements.
• Oversee projects ranging from $5M to $200M in value, typically delivered over 12-24 months.
• Take responsibility for top-level engineering design and technical documentation.
• Produce and review technical documentation including:
  • Testing procedures
  • Assembly drawings
  • Design specifications
  • Schematics
  • Operating manuals
• Lead internal and external project design reviews.
• Provide regular project status and progress updates to Engineering Management.
• Support projects through build and testing phases.
• Review technical specifications and provide engineering guidance.
• Understand customer requirements and identify appropriate engineering/product solutions.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, project management, manufacturing and other functions.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with company processes, quality requirements and health & safety standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and the development of engineering solutions.

About You

We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with:

• A degree in Engineering or a suitable alternative qualification with relevant experience.
• Experience in engineering project delivery or project execution.
