Job Introduction

Join Sodexo in Speke as a Lead Engineer and take charge of coordinating and managing critical technical services within our site. Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, you'll oversee external contractors and suppliers, ensuring all work aligns with Sodexo's SLAs, safety standards, and client expectations. You'll lead a skilled craft team—including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC specialists—driving performance through effective management and compliance. From handling small projects to supporting audit readiness, this role is essential in maintaining operational excellence, safety, and quality at one of our key locations.

What You'll Do:
  • Coordinate and lead engineering craftsmen, including planning and scheduling works via CMMS to deliver planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Manage safe systems of work through permit issuance, ensuring compliance with site policies, HS&E regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Oversee statutory compliance activities (e.g., Legionella, LEV, F-Gas, LOLER, lifts, forklifts), including reviewing risk assessments, method statements, and insurance inspection reports.
  • Control financial and contract management aspects such as obtaining quotations, authorising invoices, monitoring service contract execution, and managing service provider reports.
  • Maintain strong relationship management with employees, supply chain partners, and clients, chairing and attending key service contract meetings.
  • Manage critical databases and documentation, including refrigerant registers (F-Gas), emergency lighting PM records, and contractor inductions to ensure operational readiness and security compliance.
What You Bring:
  • Mechanical, Electrical, or I&C background with minimum GCSE education and NEBOSH qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of key regulations including LOLER, PUWER, ACOP L8, F-Gas, and LEV systems.
  • Health, safety, and environmental awareness, holding at least IOSH Working Safely or equivalent accreditation.
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude towards learning and skills development.
  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management.
What We Offer:

Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it's a chance to be part of something greater. You'll belong to a company and team that values you for who you are; you'll act with purpose and have an impact through your everyday actions; and you'll be able to thrive in your own way. In addition, we offer:

  • Mental health & wellbeing support
  • Employee Assistance Programme for personal, legal, and financial advice
  • 24/7 virtual GP & lifestyle rewards
  • Discounts for you & family
  • Financial tools & retirement plan
