Job description

We're hiring a Lead Engineer to join a well-established and high-performing food processing site in the Measham area. This is a Monday to Friday, days-based role, ideal for a senior engineer ready to step into a leadership position without the burden of rotating shifts.

Role Overview:

  • Lead and support the engineering team in maintaining site equipment and minimising downtime
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across key assets including chillers, conveyors, washers, and pack lines
  • Provide hands-on fault-finding expertise (both electrical and mechanical)
  • Coordinate with production and management teams to ensure maintenance priorities are aligned with operational goals
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a senior engineering or supervisory role within a manufacturing or food production environment
  • Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or higher preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic skills in both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Confident communicator, able to lead a team and liaise cross-functionally
  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable taking ownership of engineering outcomes
