Job Title: Lead Engineer – Building Services - Commercial Engineering Site

A leading UK-based facilities management company is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to manage engineering operations at a prestigious commercial portfolio of mixed used development in West Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with leadership experience to take responsibility for shift-based service delivery and ensure critical systems operate smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Engineer
  • Supervise and coordinate shift engineers to deliver planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Ensure all engineering tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Monitor and operate building systems including HVAC, BMS, UPS, and emergency power.
  • Conduct shift handovers, maintain accurate logs, and elevate issues as required.
  • Liaise with contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with permits and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure all documentation is up to date.
Ideal Profile of the Lead Engineer
  • 5+ years’ experience in building services or facilities engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge across electrical and mechanical systems.
  • C&G Parts 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent, plus 18th Edition.
  • IOSH accreditation and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience supervising engineering teams in a shift-based environment.
  • Proactive approach to problem‑solving and service delivery.
