Lead Engineer
Ramsbottom, Lancashire

Salary: £54,974 starting salary + Benefits
Shift: 4 on 4 off (days, nights)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee and develop our engineering operations at Ramsbottom. You will lead site engineering teams, implement strategies to improve asset reliability, safety, and quality, and manage engineering systems and processes. Your role includes coaching team members, managing KPIs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead engineering teams to deliver operational plans within safety, quality, and cost parameters.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to enhance reliability, quality, safety, and asset utilization.
  3. Manage maintenance principles, engineering systems, and resource planning.
  4. Oversee spare parts management, KPI delivery, and continuous improvement projects.
  5. Coach and develop direct reports, ensuring performance and potential are maximized.
  6. Support project management and act as deputy for the Engineering Manager.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Engineering qualification (apprenticeship or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a medium/large automated manufacturing environment
  • Leadership experience in an engineering setting
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Experience with CMMS and stock control systems
  • Knowledge of KPIs and OEE; experience with lean manufacturing techniques is advantageous
  • Project management and change leadership skills
