Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Farnborough, UK, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to own the embedded software lifecycle for secure radio systems. You will design, implement and optimise DSP-based waveforms, collaborate across software, hardware and RF teams, and contribute to architecture and testing efforts.

The role requires 7–10 years in embedded software for communications, strong C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink experience, and the ability to work in a security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in real-time embedded software for radio/communications systems.
• Strong DSP knowledge: modulation, filtering, coding techniques.
• C/C++ for embedded platforms; scripting with Python or C# helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance embedded software for tactical radio systems.
• Design software for waveforms and SDR platforms.
• Develop DSP algorithms for signal processing tasks.
• Integrate software with RF front-end hardware.
• Create design specs and technical documentation.
• Maintain and evolve testing environments and tooling.
• Collaborate across software, hardware and systems teams.
• Translate requirements into software architectures.
