Job summary

Thermoteknix Systems Ltd in Cambridge, UK, is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to own electronic hardware design across our ruggedised imaging and AR systems. You will lead design, verification, and transfer to manufacturing, collaborating with firmware, software, mechanical, and production teams.

The role requires hands‑on expertise in analogue/digital/mixed‑signal circuits, schematic capture, PCB layout, and interfaces with FPGA and sensors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience designing electronic hardware for high‑performance products.
• Strong knowledge of analogue, digital, power, and mixed‑signal circuits.
• Experience taking designs from concept through prototype to production release.
• Schematic capture and PCB design process experience.
• Proficient with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, power supplies).
• Ability to debug complex electronic systems at board and system level.
• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, FPGA interfaces, or sensor integration.
• Experience designing for reliability, manufacturability, and testability.
• Good written and verbal communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electronic hardware for new and existing products.
• Own electronic design activities from concept to production release.
• Design analogue, digital, power, video, embedded, and mixed‑signal electronics for rugged products.
• Produce schematics, BOMs, and documentation.
• Review and approve designs for manufacturability and reliability.
• Collaborate with firmware and software engineers on interfaces (FPGA, MCU, sensors).
• Lead prototype bring‑up, debugging, integration, and testing.
• Support EMC, environmental, reliability, and compliance testing.
