Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking a Principal Electronics Design Engineer in the UK to lead analogue electronics, power systems and SMPS development. You will mentor engineers, guide cross-functional teams and ensure designs meet regulatory and customer requirements.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, system-level design, and strong documentation practices across projects in lighting, control systems and power electronics.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with analogue electronics, power systems and SMPS.
• Broad understanding of electronic circuit design and system-level engineering.
• Experience mentoring or technically leading engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and optimisation of analogue electronics, power systems and SMPS technologies.
• Develop LED lighting control and power management systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
• Oversee integration of control systems, HMI and LED lighting solutions into products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power, control and digital systems.
• Lead troubleshooting across power conversion, EMC, thermal management and integration.
• Create and review technical documentation including circuit designs, PCB layouts and specs.
• Support continuous improvement and promote technical excellence.
• Research and evaluate emerging electronic technologies and design methods.
