Job description

Lead Electronic Design Engineer

Location: Basildon

Pay: Up to GBP70p/h (Inside IR35)

Responsibilities:

• Development of hardware solutions, including the design of in-house PCBs.
• Supporting Systems Engineers to develop requirements and architecture.
• Supporting the integration of hardware, firmware, and software.
• Supporting qualification activities.
• Supporting trials and proving activities.
• Fully documenting and recording work products, maintaining configuration management, and providing plans and progress reports.
• Collaborating within a multi-disciplined team of engineers to resolve technical issues.

Experience Required:

• Minimum of a BTEC, HND, or Apprenticeship in an Electronics-based Engineering course.
• Knowledge of all stages of the engineering development life cycle.
• Familiarity with circuit design (schematic capture) and simulation tools.
• Practical experience of hardware, firmware, and software integration of microprocessor-based designs.
• Experience integrating in-house designs with COTS modules (power supplies, single board computers, RF interfaces).
• Practical experience in debugging, testing, and verifying new designs.
• A methodical approach to the full hardware design life cycle, following structured hardware processes.
• Knowledge of DFx, specifically Design for EMC.
• Ability to schedule work and manage time effectively to meet project timelines and budgets.
