Job Description

1.0SUMMARY

Due to continued year-on-year growth, Data Physics (UK) Ltd are looking to appoint a pro-active, forward-thinking individual to join our friendly well-established company in Hailsham as a Lead Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our established engineering team on a full-time permanent basis. The role is a critical position within the engineering team, and you will be key in driving the development of new and the support of existing electrodynamic vibration systems.

2.0ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

This position is expected to work well with all departments including engineering, product management, production, buying and field service.

3.0DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Electro-Mechanical design, input and modification of integrated power and controls systems

·Brainstorming new product ideas and technical requirements/ specifications

·Translate design briefs into effective solutions

·CAD drawings for Electrical control schematics, Electrical Circuit diagrams & PCB design

·CAD drawings for mechanical parts & systems

·Perform mechanical and electrical work on electrodynamic vibration systems and power amplifiers

·Perform hands on practical engineering analysis, testing, and trouble shooting

·Qualification test plans and troubleshooting for Vibration Test Systems

· of detailed BOMs and process documentation

·Engineering support for production, sales, materials, and service departments

·Advising and helping with the sourcing of components for prototype production and testing

·Communicating with UK and overseas teams on project-specific topics

·Helping other day-to-day technical activities of the engineering department

·Build test jigs and fixtures for validation and in-house product testing

·Conduct product testing to international standards, documenting results for compliance

·Electrical CE & UKCA compliance and documentation

4.0SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS

·5+ years’ commercial experience in electro-mechanical design, ideally in power electronics / audio electronics / switch mode power supplies

·Experience working with analogue and digital electronics and associated components

·Comfortable using engineering tools including oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analysers, and spectrum analysers

·Circuit Board Design

·Mechanical and electrical system integration

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·Excellent numerical and analytical skills

·High level of attention to detail, Independent and self-reliant

·Excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

·Commercial ability using Altium (or equivalent) & SolidWorks CAD software

·EMC experience and its considerations during design and development

·Experience with project coordination, helping to deliver a project from concept through to delivery

5.0EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

·Bachelor’s degree in electro-mechanical engineering or equivalent (HNC/HND)

·Requires a minimum of 5 years of work experience in electro-mechanical design

·Experience with test and measurement instrumentation
