Job summary

GE Vernova - Grid Automation is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technical Lead to drive protection and panel design for electric utility and industrial markets. You will lead technical projects from design through site commissioning, coordinating with customers and GE's technical community.

The role requires experience in protection functions, relays, cubicle design, and Micom Multilin knowledge; travel locally and globally is expected. A BSc in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Educational background: BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in protection and electrical design engineering.
• Technical skills: protection functions, electrical schemes, and cubicle design (Micom Multilin).
• Design expertise: configuring protection relays and network studies.
• GE Vernova Substation Automation Solutions knowledge is a plus.
• Travel: ability to travel locally and globally with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical projects: drive activities from design to commissioning.
• Participate in project risk reviews and manage man-day budgets.
• Analyze customer specifications and write technical documentation.
• Specify software and IEDs, and ensure safety standards.
• Address deviations, fault reports, and assist site engineers.
• Lead Factory/Site Acceptance Tests and coordinate with commissioning teams.
• Provide training to customers and support tendering and commercial teams.

In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing protection and panel design, acting as a bridge between our customers and GE Vernova’s technical community. This is an exciting opportunity to make impactful decisions, apply your expertise, and ensure the successful delivery of projects from inception to site commissioning.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Projects: Drive technical project activities, lead customer kick-off meetings, and ensure successful project execution from design to commissioning.
• Customer and Project Management: Participate in project risk reviews, manage project budgets in term of man-days allocated to the engineering tasks, and provide regular progress updates.
• Design and Documentation: Analyse customer specifications, write project technical documentation, and validate technical solutions with customers.
• Technical Oversight: Specify software and IEDs, manage technical execution planning, and ensure adherence to GE Vernova safety standards.
• Issue Resolution: Address technical deviations, manage fault reports, and support site engineers remotely or on-site.
• Testing and Commissioning: Lead Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and coordinate with commissioning teams for major site milestones.
• Training and Support: Provide project-specific training to customers, support tendering and commercial teams, and ensure customer satisfaction through professional project execution.

Required Qualifications

• Educational Background: BSc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in protection and electrical design engineering.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of protection functions, electrical scheme, and cubicle design. (Micom Multilin etc.).
• Design Expertise: Proficient in designing and configuring protection relays and network studies.
• GE Vernova Substation Automation Solutions: Preferred candidates will have proven knowledge in this area.
• Travel: Ability to travel locally and globally, with a valid driver’s license.

• Automation and protection Systems: In-depth knowledge of automation electrical scheme, detailed design of electrical protection relays (LV, MV & HV), and network studies.
