Job Description

Role: Lead Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne and Wear

Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary + pension + death in service, cash back medical scheme, and more

Shift Pattern:

  • Week 1: Mon-Thu Days (06:00 – 18:00), Fri-Sun off
  • Week 2: Mon–Thu Nights (18:00 – 06:00), 6 days off (Fri-Wed)
  • Week 3: Thu–Sat Days (06:00- 18:00), Sun off

Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to production breakdowns to minimize downtime
  • Provide technical support to shift engineers and apprentices
  • Perform planned maintenance and repairs
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovative projects
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards
  • Collaborate with contractors and colleagues to meet company goals

Requirements:

  • Apprentice-trained Electrical or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
  • Experience in maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise
  • Ability to perform both mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs and inverter drives
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
