Job summary

Randstad CPE in Manchester seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Nuclear sector detailed design and HV substation projects to lead delivery of complete electrical scopes, manage project teams, and drive high‑integrity electrical design for critical infrastructure. Hybrid work pattern, 2–3 days in the Manchester office (Tue-Thu).

Candidates should have 15+ years of UK Nuclear sector experience, deep HV/LV distribution and protection modelling expertise, and hold active UK

Qualifications

15+ years of engineering experience in the UK Nuclear sector with recent hands-on detailed design.
Deep expertise in HV/LV distribution, power system modelling and substation design.
UK SC Clearance or eligible to obtain it.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical project delivery including schedule/MDR creation, CTR estimates, change control and delegation of work packages.
Direct hands-on electrical design: SLDs, power system calculations, earthing and lightning protection, load schedules, cable routing, schematics and equipment specifications.
Specify and procure major electrical assets: HV/LV switchboards, transformers, UPS systems, motors, and lighting.
Conduct HV power system modelling and protection studies; liaise with DNOs and project stakeholders.
Oversee compliance with UK nuclear codes, ATEX/DSEAR guidelines and CE marking directives.
