The role:

Working as an Electrical Lead Engineer, you will report directly to the Plant Engineer for the department and lead a team consisting of Maintenance Engineers, Electrical Craft Team Leader and Team Member colleagues.

This role plays a crucial part in safety management within the department - therefore in your role as Lead Engineer - you will be responsible for ensuring your team carries out activities correctly whilst adhering to all necessary safety protocols.

You will confidently address and challenge behaviours when necessary, fostering a culture of health and safety. By conducting regular positive safety conversations and task reviews, you will identify and implement necessary improvements. Your leadership will be crucial in achieving the departments safety targets, as you lead by example and uphold the highest safety standards.

As the lead for the Electrical Team, you will be responsible for conducting reviews with team members, establishing engineering professional competence requirements and developing a maintenance team succession plan. Additionally, you will offer support to Maintenance Engineers and graduates, aiding their development.

Experience:

We are looking for an experienced engineer, ideally with a degree in your engineering discipline and a strong working knowledge of other disciplines.

You should have a comprehensive understanding and proven use of engineering tools, techniques, and key performance indicators to drive improvements in equipment, processes, systems, and people.

A solid grasp of reliability management tools and techniques is essential. This includes expertise in root cause analysis, defect elimination, and planned preventative maintenance.

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and is capable of inspiring and leading others.
