Principal Electrical Engineer – Clean Energy | UK Remote/Hybrid

An innovative company in the clean energy sector is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the delivery of complex, low-carbon power system projects. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with experience in high-spec electrical design, power distribution, and regulatory compliance across sectors like energy, industrials, or infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design for HV/LV systems, MCCs, switchgear, and control panels.
• Produce and review detailed technical documentation (SLDs, BLDs, FDS, URS, etc.).
• Conduct site surveys, manage vendor interfaces, and respond to technical queries.
• Perform studies using OEM software for lighting, cable, and load calculations.
• Ensure designs meet relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, ATEX, etc.) and HSE guidelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and support multi-disciplinary delivery teams.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering; Chartered or working towards preferred.
• Strong background in complex electrical systems, ideally within regulated sectors.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and electrical calculation tools.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, project-led environment.
