Job summary

Outsource UK in Clevedon is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join a high-performing engineering environment supporting design and manufacture of advanced semiconductor equipment.

You will lead, empower and mentor a team of Electrical Engineers, ensuring deliverables meet safety, regulatory and cost targets while driving modularity and standardisation across programs. This role requires strong governance and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's minimum; Master’s desirable).
• Significant experience in electrical engineering product design and development.
• Proven experience coordinating projects, applying governance methods, and leading engineering teams.
• Strong experience working in regulated, compliance-driven environments.
• Solid understanding of product safety and compliance standards including LV Directive, EMC Directive, and Functional Safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activity across product and system development programmes.
• Work at the core of engineering and product development teams using structured methods to deliver solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define work packages and deliverables.
• Take accountability for technical elements of product system/subsystem design, including risk management.
• Drive modularity and standardisation to maximise reuse and efficiency across programs.
• Own safety and type testing activities ensuring verification and validation.
• Review and approve technical reports and documentation from the team.
• Mentor and coach engineers towards leadership roles.
