Job summary

Vertical Recruitment is recruiting for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer in Cheshire with hybrid working. You will guide electrical design across projects, mentor engineers, and shape engineering standards while collaborating with mechanical and process teams.

The role emphasizes design leadership, technical excellence, and stakeholder engagement across industrial, commercial and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

Experience leading electrical design teams.
Strong knowledge of LV power distribution.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Experience mentoring engineers and developing teams.
Chartered engineer status or working towards it is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead the electrical design function across multiple projects.
Mentor and develop a growing team of Electrical Engineers.
Produce and review high-quality electrical building services designs.
Act as technical lead for LV electrical systems and infrastructure.
Design power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, UPS and earthing systems.
Coordinate with mechanical, process and controls disciplines.
Attend client meetings and provide technical guidance throughout project delivery.
Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and industry best practice.
Support commissioning activities and resolve technical challenges.
Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards and design quality.
