Job Description:

EQUANS is looking for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer (Decarbonisation & Energy Solutions) to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The Lead Electrical Design Engineer plays a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems for decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects, mainly sustainable retrofits. Responsibilities include managing electrical and energy systems design across RIBA Stages 2-7, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading a team of design engineers from concept to implementation.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading electrical design solutions across RIBA Stages 2-4 with ongoing support for stages 5-7.
• Designing low-carbon energy solutions such as solar PV, battery storage, and renewable energy systems.
• Ensuring compliance with BS, IET Wiring Regulations, CIBSE, and UK building regulations.
• Leading BIM implementation and overseeing CAD development.
• Managing design coordination and team development.
• Supporting project delivery, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Leading retrofit design processes aligned with decarbonisation goals.
• Developing decarbonisation strategies and supporting funding applications.

Candidate requirements:
