Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Static Site (Data Centre), North West London
Salary: Up to £55,000 (Dependent on Experience)


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our client, a globally recognised manufacturer operating within the HVAC and data centre sectors. This static-site role is based at a major data centre project in North West London (NW10).


As Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering the full electrical commissioning process of advanced Air Handling Units (AHUs), power distribution systems, and integrated controls. You will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure all systems meet performance, compliance, and safety standards.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the electrical commissioning of AHUs, power systems, and controls on a high-profile data centre project.
  • Supervise and mentor junior commissioning engineers, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to meet programme timelines and project objectives.
  • Perform functional testing, fault diagnosis, and system validation in accordance with commissioning protocols and ASHRAE L1-L5 processes.
  • Proactively identify technical issues or risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, including preparation of RAMS and adherence to site procedures.
  • Act as the key contact for technical matters, liaising with the client, commissioning authority, and other contractors.
  • Complete and review all commissioning documentation to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of commissioning tools, processes, and team development.

Position Requirements:


  • Proven experience in a lead or senior electrical commissioning role within HVAC, M&E, or data centre environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical commissioning, particularly related to AHUs and ventilation systems.
  • Fully qualified electrician (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent).
  • Experience working on 400V electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with BMS and communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet.
  • Skilled in electrical testing, airflow measurement, pressure and temperature control.
  • Proficient in producing RAMS and detailed commissioning documentation.
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence required.
  • IPAF, MEWP, and harness experience preferred.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification advantageous.
  • Experience in data centre environments and knowledge of ASHRAE commissioning stages.
  • Must be based in or near NW10 (North West London).
