Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited seeks an experienced Electrical Building Services Design Lead to deliver power, lighting, life safety, telecoms, and related systems from concept to detail across Glasgow and Edinburgh.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with the BIM team using Revit, support client meetings, and ensure delivery on time and budget while upholding UK standards.

The role offers hybrid working and opportunities for Chartered status within a supportive national practice.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Building Services Engineering with high‑quality building design.
• Curious, innovative mindset to explore new ways of working.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Working towards or holding Chartered status (IET, CIBSE or equivalent).
• Proficient in Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS and Microsoft tools.
• UK technical standards knowledge; energy reduction and decarbonisation focus.
• Experience with commissioning, performance evaluation, and measurement & verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver electrical building services designs from concept to detailed design.
• Demonstrate strong team‑leading abilities and client‑facing confidence.
• Produce detailed calculations using Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and Excel.
• Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and client presentations.
• Work with the BIM team and apply Revit for modelling and drawings.
• Attend and represent AtkinsRéalis in client and stakeholder meetings.
• Undertake site surveys, inspections, and commissioning reviews.
• Manage workload to ensure delivery on time and budget; mentor junior engineers.
