Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an Associate Ecologist to join our Ecology team based in London. You will lead delivery of complex ecological projects across sectors, acting as Project Director or Technical Lead and mentoring ecologists.

The role supports hybrid working with two to three days in the office and requires MCIEEM eligibility, UK driving licence, and strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and EIA/BNG requirements.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years ecological consultancy experience.
• MCIEEM or eligible for MCIEEM.
• Extensive knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
• Experience leading ecology projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of ecological projects across sectors with technical excellence.
• Act as Project Director or Technical Lead, managing budgets and governance.
• Develop and maintain client accounts; identify growth opportunities.
• Mentor ecologists and provide technical guidance across career stages.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers and environmental managers on planning requirements.
