Job summary

Orkney Islands Council is seeking an Early Years Lead Practitioner for Glaitness Nursery in Kirkwall. This permanent, full-time post offers 35 hours per week across 50 weeks per year, with a salary of £35,553 – £38,309 per year (incl. Distant Islands Allowance).

The role reports to the ELC Manager and runs 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with flexible working where possible. You will lead in delivering high-quality early learning and childcare and model best practice within the nursery.

Qualifications

• Regulated role with children; Level 2 PVG scheme membership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a high-quality early learning and childcare service.
• Model quality practice and take a lead on aspects of the setting's work.
