Job summary

TLTP Education is seeking a Lead DT Technician for a large 11–18 secondary school in South East London. The role is full-time, temporary, with an immediate start to support Graphics and Food Technology lessons.

You will assist teachers and students during practical sessions, prepare and maintain equipment, and uphold high Health & Safety standards in a busy DT department.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience working as a DT Technician, or strong practical DT experience.
• Have experience across Graphics and/or Food Technology.
• Support teachers and students during practical lessons.
• Prepare and maintain equipment, materials and resources.
• Have a good understanding of Health & Safety.
• Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Be confident working within a busy secondary school environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and students during practical DT lessons.
• Prepare and maintain equipment, materials and resources for lessons.
• Support teachers during practical activities in Graphics and Food Technology.
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed in the workshop.
• Organise workspaces and manage resources efficiently.
• Work independently in a busy school setting.

The department offers Graphics and Food Technology, with the successful candidate supporting teachers and students with practical lessons, equipment and resources.

The successful Lead DT Technician will:
