Job summary

Allen & York Ltd in London or Canterbury is seeking a Principal Drainage Engineer to lead drainage, flood risk and water management projects with hybrid working. You will mentor engineers, manage client relationships and deliver projects on time and within budget.

The role requires strong knowledge of UK planning policy, SuDS and drainage design, plus experience with MicroDrainage, Flood Modeller, GIS and AutoCAD. A relevant engineering degree is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering drainage and flood risk projects in a UK consultancy
• Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and SuDS
• Experience using MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow+, Flood Modeller, GIS or AutoCAD
• Excellent technical report writing skills
• Strong project management and client-facing experience
• Degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Engineering

Responsibilities

• Producing drainage strategies, technical reports and hydraulic modelling
• Designing SuDS
• Preparing technical drawings and supporting documentation
• Managing projects and client relationships
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
• Preparing fee proposals and contributing to business development
