Job summary

The Great Western Hospital in Swindon seeks a substantive General Endocrinology and Diabetes Consultant to lead Diabetes Technology. The post supports inpatient and outpatient services within a dynamic team of six consultants and includes a dedicated virtual clinic time.

There is flexibility for remote work one day per week, with rotating ward duties and on-call responsibilities. The department covers a full spectrum of endocrine conditions and diabetes clinics, with strong MDT collaboration and

Qualifications

• Fully registered with the GMC.
• CCT (or equivalent) and GMC Specialist Register in Endocrine & Diabetes and GIM.
• MRCP (UK) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Multidisciplinary team discussions and ward cover in a 18-bed unit.
• Lead inpatient diabetes in-reaching service and outpatient clinics.
• Attend monthly MDT meetings and manage ward cross-cover rotas.
• Provide teaching, examinations and CME activities.
• Contribute to policy, governance and service development.
• Occasional work-from-home opportunities and out-of-hours rota.
