Job summary

F5 Consultants in Bristol is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to lead a security-focused engineering team. This is a high‑impact leadership role where you won’t code day to day, but you will oversee the team’s work and intervene technically when required.

You’ll design and improve DevSecOps practices, implement secure CI/CD pipelines, establish security controls across the development lifecycle, mentor engineers, review code and IaC, and enhance platform reliability and release processes for

Qualifications

• Experience leading DevSecOps or platform engineering teams.
• Strong background in Kubernetes and containerised environments.
• Hands-on familiarity with Terraform and IaC.
• Proven ability to design secure CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.

Job description

• Location: Bristol – three days per week on site, two days from home

I’m supporting a global IT consultancy who are recruiting a DevSecOps Engineer to work with a UK Defence client.

This is a Senior Manager-level technical leadership position to lead a existing team and improve how security is embedded throughout software delivery. You won’t be coding day to day, but you’ll oversee and review the team’s code and step in technically when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and improving DevSecOps practices
• Designing and implementing secure CI/CD pipelines
• Establishing security controls across the development lifecycle
• Leading and mentoring DevOps and engineering teams
• Reviewing code, automation and IaC
• Improving platform reliability, observability and release processes
• Supporting governance, vulnerability management and compliance
