As a senior DevOps/Platform Engineer, you will lead platform modernisation, drive DevOps strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure reliable, resilient services across cloud

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native platforms in Azure and/or AWS.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, networking, IAM and multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud architectures.
  • Hands-on IaC with Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation or Ansible.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and platform operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead DevOps strategy and platform modernisation across cloud infrastructure, automation, security and observability.
  • Mentor engineering teams and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable, resilient services.
  • Design, implement and operate cloud-based solutions for complex environments and large clients.

Job description

Salary: £33,000 - 73,000 per year

Requirements
  • We require a proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive DevOps best practices.
  • We require strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • We require proven experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native platforms in Azure and/or AWS.
  • We require strong knowledge of cloud security, networking, and identity and access management (IAM).
  • We require hands-on experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • We require strong experience with Kubernetes, containerisation, and platform operations.
  • We require experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.
  • We require strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Go.
  • We require experience designing and implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, ELK/EFK.
  • We require excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • We require experience designing and implementing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • We require experience with multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures.
  • We require knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimisation practices.
  • We require experience implementing DevSecOps principles and security controls within CI/CD pipelines.
  • We require experience building developer platforms and self-service capabilities.
  • We require the right to work in the UK.
  • We require the ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance.
  • We require willingness to travel within the UK when required.
  • Desirable qualifications include Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400), AWS Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator - Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), and HashiCorp Terraform Associate.

  • We will mentor engineering teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure reliable, resilient platforms that meet evolving business and technical requirements.
