Job summary

Methods is a UK-based IT services consultancy focused on AWS platform engineering. This hands-on leadership role centers on designing, maintaining and improving AWS-hosted Identity platforms running on Kubernetes and ECS. You will mentor engineers, influence technical decisions and own services throughout their lifecycle.

The role emphasizes autonomy, Agile delivery, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions in a government-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering on AWS-based platforms (ECS/EKS) with Terraform-based infrastructure.
• Proven ability to design and maintain Terraform modules and Helm charts across environments.
• Strong Kubernetes knowledge including deployments, services, RBAC, and network policies.
• Experience with CI/CD using GitLab and automated testing for infra and apps.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical decisions in a squad.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate infrastructure with Terraform and Helm on AWS ECS/EKS.
• Maintain reusable Terraform modules and Helm charts used across multiple environments.
• Lead technical design discussions and provide guidance to engineers.
• Write and review Jira tickets, Spike investigations and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure robust testing, monitoring and incident response practices.
