Overview

Our global end user client based in Cambridgeshire is looking to appoint a Lead DevOps Engineer in a newly created role within the global IT team. We seek someone with a strong DevOps technical background and leadership experience in an IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global team of DevOps engineers to design and deliver infrastructure projects supporting diverse applications.
• Implement automation to manage and update the delivery ecosystem.
• Oversee continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) and DevOps architecture.
• Manage automation and orchestration of tools and processes to enhance efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure system security and implement best practices for system hardening.
• Conduct technical reviews and maintain communication with relevant departments.

Key Skills & Experience

• Leadership experience in DevOps or infrastructure roles.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premises infrastructure.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, leadership, and communication skills.

Additional Information

The role is based on a hybrid working model from Cambridge and requires candidates to be eligible to work in the UK and pass security checks.
